Nassau jitney bus from the cruise port

Nassau's jitneys are small private buses that run fixed routes from downtown: the cheapest way to Cable Beach and the west. They keep no timetable, take cash only and do not cross to Paradise Island.

How to ride

  • Pay the driver in cash as you get off: $1.50 a ride downtown and along West Bay Street, more for longer trips. Carry small bills; drivers may not have change. Source: tribune242.com
  • There is no timetable. Jitneys run roughly 6 AM to 7 PM, every few minutes on the busy routes and less often elsewhere. Source: bermuda-attractions.com
  • Flag a jitney down along its route and tell the driver where you want to get off; stops are only partly marked. Source: hopbahamas.com
  • Jitneys do not cross to Paradise Island: for Atlantis and Cabbage Beach take the water taxi or a taxi. Source: bermuda-attractions.com
  • The fare is still $1.50 (late October 2026), but operators want $2 and have only put a threatened strike on hold, so the fare or the service may change at short notice. Source: tribune242.com
